OpenBible

Privacy policy

Effective September 15, 2026

Open Bible does not collect personal data or send your reading activity to the developer.

The app

Open Bible has no accounts, advertisements, analytics, or tracking. It makes no network requests. Reading, search, study tools, and plans run locally on your device.

Local data

Your reading position, preferences, recent searches, highlights, notes, reading plans, and imported translation bundles are stored within the app on your device.

Files, sharing, and backups

If you import a translation using your device’s file picker or AirDrop, the app copies that file into its storage and keeps the original. If you choose to share or export notes, highlights, or passages, the destination you select receives that content.

Apple, Google, or your selected file provider may handle file transfers. Device backups may include app data depending on your settings. Those services process information under their own privacy policies; Open Bible does not operate a separate sync or backup service.

Your choices

You can delete notes, highlights, reading plans, search history, and imported translations using the app's controls. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device. Manage any backups separately through your device or backup provider.

This support website

This website has no analytics scripts, advertising, tracking cookies, or contact forms. Device detection runs locally in your browser to suggest a compatible download; it does not send a separate device report or save a tracking identifier. The download server is configured without access logging. Hosting and security providers, including Cloudflare, may process normal connection information such as your IP address and browser information to deliver and protect the website. This is separate from the offline app.

Support communications

If you contact support, the information you choose to send is used to respond to your request. Please include only the details needed to explain your question.

Changes and questions

This page will be updated if the app's privacy practices change. Help is available on the support page.
